Experience in the media

I worked in Madrid as a reporter for the daily morning program Espejo Público, aired on the Spanish TV channel Antena 3 and anchored by Susanna Griso. It’s a program based on current news and its content is diverse. It discusses politics and economy among others and my news pieces mostly dealt with those issues. I used Dalet –a Fully Integrated Platform Purpose Built for News– for video editing.

During the year I lived in the United States of America, I anchored and produced the Free Press Watch report. It was a weekly video which dealt with a run-down of media events affecting press freedom around the world. It was the first time I anchored news in front of a camera and in a language which is not my mother language, which made it an amazing experience.

I had the opportunity to work at Newsy throughout four months during the year I lived in the US. Newsy is a “multisource video news analysis service that highlights nuances in reporting from media outlets around the world”, especially developed for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Whilte at Newsy, based in Columbia, I wrote articles, edited videos and translated articles for its Spanish services –news that were after sent to news outlets like The Wall Street Journal or Yahoo News.

Also in the US, I collaborated with Global Journalist writing articles about the state of Journalism and Press Freedom around the world and producing several radio shows later aired on KBIA, the local radio station. I also improved my InDesign skills, as I had to design web covers several times.

During the Senior year of college, the students of the Radio Production course had to elaborate a news bulletin and air it on 98.3 Radio, the university radio. I volunteered for being the Editor and, thus, I wrote the editorial, chose the topics of the day, supervised by Idoia Altadill, Director of Onda Cero in Navarre. I also elaborated the script and distributed the time for each news with the Producer, wrote the intros to the news and the information about the stock market and I was the news anchor.

I collaborated with El Subjetivo during several months in 2014. One of my opinion pieces, Operación Panfleto, dealt with Kim Jong-un’s regime and the censorship the North Korean population endures. At the time I wrote for El Subjetivo, the opinion pieces of José María Iñigo or Melchior Miralles were also published in that media.
